Meet

Connie Parkinson!

Connie's nostalgic and romantic fascination for the English lifestyle shines through her work. Her designs give the appearance of complexity yet are achieved through her relaxed style and easy techniques.

She began decorative and canvas painting in oils in 1983 and in 1985 began teaching in acrylics. Her love for the look of oils prompted her to seek out an acrylic palette and the techniques necessary to achieve the vibrant but soft and easy “painterly” look of oils with acrylics.

In 1992, under the name of St. James Place she began designing her line of pattern packets and teaching workshops and seminars. Her published books include, the Wearable Garden (1990) Perfectly English (1997), Old World Charm (1999), Jambalaya N”Awlins Style (2000), Old World Charm II (2002) and A Classy Affair (2003).

She lives with her husband James, 2 cats, Buddy Love the bull terrier and 4 parrots in sunny southern California.
